Accepted file formats
- PDF (recommended): vector-based with embedded fonts and images. The best choice for all vehicle wrap files.
- AI: Adobe Illustrator, with all fonts outlined before saving.
- EPS: vector format with embedded images. Accepted for most wrap files.
Also accepted for smaller formats: TIFF (100–150 DPI at full size) and high-resolution PNG. We don't recommend JPEG: compression artifacts become visible at large-format scale.
Resolution requirements
- 100 DPI minimum at full print size
- 150 DPI recommended at full print size
- Vector artwork: no limit, it scales infinitely
A file that looks sharp on screen at 72 DPI will often print blurry at large format. Always check your DPI at the actual print dimensions, not at a reduced preview size.
Color mode
- Files must be in CMYK color mode.
- RGB files are converted automatically, and colors may shift, especially bright reds, oranges and blues.
- Large black fills: use rich black, C:60 M:40 Y:40 K:100.
- Small black text: use 100% K only to avoid registration issues.
- White ink is not available. White areas must be left transparent or unprinted.
- Matching a specific color? Use a reference code from our Color Swatch Book, or design with its free .ase swatch library.
Bleed & safe zone
- Bleed: 0.25" on all sides beyond the trim/cut edge.
- Safe zone: 0.25" — keep all text and logos inside the trim edge.
Include crop marks in your exported file where possible. It helps our team confirm trim lines before production starts.
Fonts
- All fonts must be outlined / converted to paths before submission.
- Don't rely on system fonts, which may render differently on other computers.
- If you submit a PDF, make sure all fonts are embedded.

File naming
Name files with your order number and project name so we can match them to orders instantly, for example:
ORDER-1234_VehicleWrap_FullColor.pdf
Avoid generic names like "final.pdf" or "untitled", and names with spaces or special characters.
Submitting your file
Upload your file on the product page before adding to cart (files up to 2 GB). If an upload gives you trouble, add to cart anyway and we'll email you an upload link after checkout. To send a revised file after ordering, email info@printwiseus.com with your order number.
