File Submission Guidelines

Last updated: April 18, 2025

Overview

To ensure the best possible print quality, please follow these guidelines when preparing your files. Submitting incorrect files is the leading cause of production delays. If you're unsure, contact us at info@printwiseus.com before submitting.

Accepted File Formats

  • PDF (preferred) — Vector-based with embedded fonts and images
  • AI — Adobe Illustrator (CC or earlier), with fonts outlined
  • EPS — Vector format with embedded images
  • TIFF — High-resolution raster at 100–150 DPI at full print size
  • PNG — High-resolution, only for smaller format prints

We do not recommend JPEG files due to compression artifacts that become visible in large-format print.

Resolution Requirements

  • Minimum: 100 DPI at full print size
  • Recommended: 150 DPI at full print size
  • Vector artwork: No resolution requirement (infinitely scalable)

A file that appears sharp on screen at 72 DPI will often print blurry at large format. Always check your actual print dimensions.

Color Mode

  • Files must be in CMYK color mode
  • RGB files will be automatically converted — colors may shift, especially bright reds, oranges, and blues
  • Black text and fills: use rich black (C:60 M:40 Y:40 K:100) for large areas; use 100% K only for small text
  • White ink is not available — white areas must be transparent or left unprinted

Bleed & Safe Zone

  • Bleed: Add 0.25" (6mm) bleed on all sides beyond the trim/cut edge
  • Safe zone: Keep all critical content (text, logos) at least 0.25" inside the trim edge
  • Include crop marks in your exported file if possible

Fonts

  • All fonts must be outlined/converted to paths before submission
  • Do not rely on system fonts — they may not match across different computers
  • If submitting PDF, ensure fonts are embedded

Vehicle Wrap Templates

We recommend designing on your vehicle's manufacturer template. If you need a template for your specific vehicle make, model, and year, contact us at info@printwiseus.com and we will provide one.

  • Use the template's safe zones and cut lines
  • Design at 25% scale, 150 DPI (equivalent to 100% at 37.5 DPI)
  • Include all panels you want printed (hood, roof, doors, bumpers, etc.)

File Naming

Please name your files clearly with your order number or project name to avoid confusion:

  • Example: ORDER-1234_VehicleWrap_FullColor.pdf
  • Avoid special characters, spaces, or generic names like "final.pdf" or "untitled"

Submitting Your File

Upload your file directly on the product page during checkout. For very large files (over 500MB), contact us for an alternative upload link. If you need to submit a revised file after ordering, email info@printwiseus.com with your order number.
