A full vehicle wrap takes about 245 to 280 square feet of printed vinyl on a sedan, 291 to 334 on a full-size pickup, 303 to 408 on a mid-size or full-size SUV, and 370 to 656 on a full-size cargo van, depending on roof height and wheelbase. At Printwise, printed and laminated vehicle wrap vinyl costs $5.25 per square foot, so the print for a full wrap runs from about $1,104 for a compact car to $3,446 for an extended high-roof Sprinter. Installation is not included: we print and ship, and you or your installer apply it.
The square-footage figures on this page come from the same vehicle database that powers our vehicle wrap calculator: 539 vehicle configurations, model years 1992 to 2026, each measured panel by panel. They are the vinyl a full wrap of the painted body uses, panel by panel, not the bare surface area of the vehicle. Print costs are that area multiplied by the published per-square-foot rate for Avery Dennison MPI 1105 with 1360Z/1370Z lamination, the cast film we print full wraps on. Nothing on this page is a quote; it is the arithmetic you would get at checkout.

Exact figures for popular vehicles, sorted by type and then by size. The last column is the perforated window film area for the side and rear glass on the same vehicle, priced at $4.99 per square foot; it is separate from the wrap and only needed if the design continues onto the windows.

A dash in the window film column means the calculator does not carry a glass measurement for that vehicle; the wrap figure is still exact.
What moves the square footage up or down
- Roof height and wheelbase decide the price on vans. The same Ford Transit ranges from 382 sq ft (low roof, short wheelbase) to 536 sq ft (medium roof, extended length): a difference of $812 in print cost on the same model name. Check the roof and wheelbase before you order, not just the badge.
- Cab and bed length on pickups. A crew cab with a long bed carries 40 to 70 more square feet than a regular cab with a short bed. The Silverado line spans 279 to 333 sq ft across cab and bed combinations.
- Leaving the roof unwrapped removes roughly 25 to 60 square feet on most cars and SUVs, and considerably more on a high-roof van. Roofs are rarely seen on commercial vehicles, so this is the first place fleets save.
- Partial wraps. Sides and rear only, with the hood and roof left in the factory color, typically use 40 to 60 percent of the full-wrap figure. Price it the same way: area times the per-square-foot rate.
- Bleed and trim. The figures are the panel areas the calculator allocates for a full wrap. Printwise files need 1 inch of bleed on every side of each panel, so if you measure panels yourself, add that inch before converting to square feet.
What the per-square-foot price includes
The $5.25 rate covers the cast vinyl, the print, the protective overlaminate, trimming, a color check before packing, and a free file review before anything is printed. There is no setup fee, no artwork fee, and no minimum order: one door panel is priced at the same rate as a twenty-van fleet. Shipping is calculated at checkout by size and destination, and installation is not something we offer. The full pricing guide covers the other materials (wall vinyl, reflective, high-tack) and what a wrap shop should add on top for labor and margin.
How to get the figure for a vehicle not listed here
Open the wrap calculator, pick the year, make and model, and it returns the vinyl and window film square footage for that exact configuration and passes the number straight into the product page. If the vehicle is not in the database, measure each panel you plan to wrap (height × width, in inches), add 1 inch of bleed on every side, convert to square feet (divide by 144) and add the panels up. File setup is covered in how to prepare a print-ready vehicle wrap file. Order that total on the vehicle wrap collection page; the price updates as you type the square footage.
Frequently asked questions
How many square feet of vinyl does it take to wrap a car?
Most sedans and hatchbacks need 236 to 280 square feet of printed vinyl for a full wrap. Compact cars sit at the low end, full-size sedans such as the Camry, Altima and Charger at the high end.
How many square feet does a cargo van wrap take?
370 to 656 square feet, depending on roof height and length. A low-roof, short-wheelbase Transit or ProMaster is at the bottom of that range; an extended high-roof Sprinter is at the top.
How much does it cost to print a full vehicle wrap?
At $5.25 per square foot, $1,288 to $1,468 for a sedan, $1,528 to $1,754 for a full-size pickup, and $1,943 to $3,446 for a full-size cargo van. That is the printed and laminated vinyl shipped to you; installation is extra and is done by you or your installer.
Does the square footage include bleed?
The figures are the calculator's panel-by-panel vinyl allocation for a full wrap. If you measure panels yourself, add 1 inch of bleed on every side. Since everything is sold by the square foot with no minimum, rounding up costs only the extra feet.
Can I order exactly the square footage in the table?
Yes. Everything is sold by the square foot with no minimum, so you can order the exact figure for your vehicle or round up a few feet for safety.
